About
TEDx events are independently organized gatherings that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. TEDx stands for “TEDx” where “x” signifies an independently organized TED event. These events are planned and coordinated independently, under a free license granted by TED.
TEDx events feature live speakers and TED Talk videos, sparking deep discussions and connections.
History
TEDx began in 2009 as a way for communities, organizations, and individuals to stimulate dialogue at the local level. Since then, TEDx events have expanded globally, with thousands of events held in over 130 countries.
The movement has empowered local communities to host their own events, thus spreading ideas and fostering innovation across diverse cultures and disciplines.
Mission
The mission of TEDx is to support independent organizers who want to create a TED-like event in their community.
TEDx events aim to share ideas worth spreading, foster learning, inspiration, and wonder, and provoke conversations that matter.
Each event is unique and designed to inspire innovation, creativity, and thought leadership within the local community.
